Website Notice: Service Update

From Dr Kirsten Protherough

Important update about Home Visit Healthcare

After careful consideration, I am no longer providing private GP home visits or private GP clinical appointments through Home Visit Healthcare.

Over recent years, my work has increasingly focused on supporting people who are caring for older relatives, particularly those living with frailty, dementia, and complex age-related needs. As a result, I am now shifting the focus of my work to this area.

Going forward, my work will centre on information, guidance, education, and practical support for carers, helping families feel more confident as they navigate the day-to-day challenges of ageing.

This support will be delivered through an educational portal for employers, carers (formal and informal) which will be available soon as well as live webinars and Q+A sessions.

What this means for you

  • Private GP services have now ended.

  • We are no longer taking new bookings for clinical consultations.

If you are a previous client and have questions relating to your past care, you are very welcome to contact us at admin@homevisithealthcare.info

If you would like to know more about our frailty support services please contact me at:

kirsten@upskillforfrailty.com

This change allows me to focus my time and energy on supporting carers in a sustainable, accessible way, while continuing to share evidence-based guidance and learning.

Why Do Carers Need This?

  • Practical, not overwhelming: clear “what to do next” guidance carers can use immediately.

  • Frailty expertise: clinician-led education grounded in real-world community care.

  • Scalable support: most help is delivered via resources and webinars, so it’s reliable and repeatable.

  • Structured 1:1 available: where needed, I offer limited 1:1 consultations as part of specific bundles (not open-ended on-demand care)

What we do (and don’t do)

We do: education, guidance, signposting, carer skill-building, workplace sessions, toolkits, action plans.

We don’t: act as a medical service
